Traditional Chinese Acupuncture

Uses fine needles, inserted at certain points of the body to promote the flow of Qi. The Traditional Chinese medical belief is that when this energy line is blocked, ill health and disease develop. Acupuncture works to aid the flow of this energy and let out the negative energy. When our energy lines are balanced, we maintain good health and well-being.

Traditional Chinese Acupuncture at Optimal Health

Energy Line Unblock Acupuncture

This treatment works on the main energy centres or chakras which are integral to the Energy Lines in the body. Energy Line Unblock Acupuncture has been developed by spiritual masters and transmitted in an unbroken lineage. Each chakra corresponds to specific organs as well as physical, emotional, psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being and influences all areas of your life.

When these Energy Lines have blocked a variety of ailments can occur including anxiety disorders, fears, or nightmares. Physically, different chakras are associated with problems in the colon, the bladder, stomach disorders, elimination or digestive issues, or with issues in the lower back, legs, or feet. Energy Line Unblock Acupuncture is used to unblock the chakras, activate the organ function, and improve the energy flow over the body.

Traditional Chinese Sports Injury Treatment featuring Acupuncture and Therapeutic Massage

Sports injuries like a ruptured ACL or achilles tendon, meniscal cartilage tear, muscle inflammation or sprains and strains produce different symptoms and complications so need an individualised, multidisciplinary approach. We recommend the Traditional Chinese approach based on balancing the flow of energy (also known as Qi) around the body’s energy lines, or meridians, and the medical belief that when this energy line is blocked, ill health and disease develop.

Special needling combined with a therapeutic massage provides an effective solution to reduce pain and swelling and improve mobility and function.

Therapeutic Massage: Through various techniques and applied pressures, muscles are manipulated releasing tension and endorphins to help us feel good. Along our meridian lines are acupressure points, stimulating them will allow for a healthier flow of healing energy.

The main benefits of Therapeutic Massage with Dr. YIng are:

  • Improved flexibility and range of muscle movement through assisted stretching
  • Increased blood flow which assists circulation
  • Release of physical tension to relieve aches and pains
  • Release of emotional tension held within the body, combating stress and providing a feeling of relaxation

Dr. Ying specialises in neck shoulder, lower back, sciatic nerve, knee, and hamstring pain. The effect of treatment is evaluated with VAS scores.

Traditional Chinese Pain relief using Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points are sore spots associated with aching, stiffness, and function limitations which usually present muscle “knots” or pressure pain points: or even pimples, which may be a cause of entrapped nerve and blood vessels.

Trigger Point Therapy, also known as Acupotomy, is a modernised acupuncture form combining the effects of microsurgery and conventional acupuncture showing specific benefits in the treatment of trigger points. They may especially be a major factor in shoulder pain, scapula pain, low back pain, and neck pain.
